Dosimetric Comparative Analysis of Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy and Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy in Cervical Cancer

نویسندگان

چکیده

Objective: To carry out dosimetric comparison between volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) and intensity-modulated radiation (IMRT) in cervical cancer. Methods: 50 postoperative cancer patients were included this study. The admitted for treatment from January 2021 to 2022. VMAT IMRT plans designed each patient analyze the dose distribution target area of two techniques. Results: Comparing monitor unit single (638.21 ± 116.21 MU) time (143.21 23.14 s) observation group (932.14 74.11 (223.14 17.26 control group, there was significant difference (P < 0.05); also 0.05) normal tissue (bladder rectum) that group. Conclusion: is more effective cancer, it has a certain protective effect on tissues can reduce dose.

Intensity modulated radiation therapy versus volumetric intensity modulated arc therapy

The advanced developments in external beam radiation therapy (EBRT) over the past few decades have improved dose conformity to the target while minimizing dose to the surrounding organs at risk (OAR). Intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) and volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) are two commonly used EBRT techniques to treat cancer. In sliding window (SW) or dynamic IMRT, each radiati...

Volumetric intensity-modulated arc therapy vs conventional intensity-modulated radiation therapy in nasopharyngeal carcinoma: a dosimetric study

Dosimetric comparisons between RapidArc (RA) and conventional Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) techniques for nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) were performed to address differences in dose coverage of the target, sparing of organs-at-risk (OARs), delivery of monitor units (MUs) and time, to assess whether the RA technique was more beneficial for treatment of NPC. Eight NPC patients (S...

Dosimetric comparison of intensity modulated and volumetric arc radiation therapy for gastric cancer

The aim of the present study was to compare radiotherapy treatment plans for gastric cancer using intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) and single/double-arc volumetric modulated arc therapy (SA/DA-VMAT) delivery techniques. A total of 29 postoperative gastric cancer patients were enrolled in this study and each patient was scheduled 5-field IMRT (5F-IMRT), 7-field IMRT (7F-IMRT), SA-VMAT and...

Dosimetric benefits of intensity‐modulated radiotherapy and volumetric‐modulated arc therapy in the treatment of postoperative cervical cancer patients

As the advantage of using complex volumetric-modulated arc therapy (VMAT) in the treatment of gynecologic cancer has not yet been fully determined, the purpose of this study was to investigate the dosimetric advantages of VMAT by comparing directly with whole pelvic conformal radiotherapy (CRT) and intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) in the treatment of 15 postoperative cervical cancer pati...
